Things are coming along...

Well, last night was the biggest win so far.  With the help of Zach's buddy Ethan, we were able to get the motor and transmission installed in the car!  Took some finagling, and we had to remove the front clip.... but we prevailed!

A BIG SHOUT OUT to Vinnie Camaro!  He hooked us up with a brand new Painless Performance wiring harness for a great price!  Look him up on Facebook marketplace for your F-Body needs!

In the previous weeks, we found out that we needed a different 700R4.... one big enough for the V8, not the original V6.

We found one... from an 89 IROC.  Happy that it's the "newest" version of the 700R4, and the price being decent we jumped at it.  We're hoping it isn't in need of a full rebuild.   We did however get a gasket/seal kit, and all external seals and gaskets were replaced while the transmission was on the bench.

Here's a tidbit.....  The 6 bolts that hold the 700R4 to the V6 are metric.  Big beefy metric. BUT, the 6 bolts that hold the 700R4 to the V8 are Imperial and a fair bit smaller.  Having said that.... the 3 bolts that hold the torque converter and flex plate together are the same thread pattern... I can't remember now SAE or IMP.

GM... couldn't we just stick to one or the other!?

The last few pictures are of sadness.  The sleds being summer-ized and put away for the winter (cue melancholy music)

Until next time!

P.S.  That 5.7L Tuned Port Injection V8 looks so nasty in the engine bay!  So cool!
