Well, 'tis the season....
When you're all about the oldies they tend to break down more then the new stuff.... while we're disappointed when it happens, we aren't surprised.

Our 1998 Ski-Doo Formula SL sporting a transplanted Rotax 503 decided it didn't want to go anymore. The MAG side piston and head looked exactly like the Safari's piston... I have a sneaking suspicion that maybe the crank seals on both of these engines was leaking which caused a lean condition. With all of the projects going on, I don't know that we'll get to it this winter :( boo.
On a positive note, we sourced a new to us primary clutch for the ZRT600, and we decided that our best option to cover the gaping wound on the belly pan would be to rivet some HVAC sheet metal to cover it. So far, it's working well enough.
Oh yeah, a new seat cover (thank you Royal Distributing).
**** An update on the Safari... we had a parts machine out in the sled graveyard.... we were able to swap it into our "good" machine and get it going in about 4 hours..... Started first pull.
It seems to be running ok.... although we haven't tested it really yet.
Stay tuned... more to come.
