MORE KITTIES!

When 2 just isn't enough... you grab 3 more.  So in addition to Garfield and Cheeto, we now have Chungus, Dig and Rig.

Okay.
I finally did something i've been meaning to do for a long long time.  Change the oil on the 1977 John Deere 1630.    I gave it the royal treatment.  AMSOIL Engine flush, a Mann & Hubbel oil filter and the best Diesel oil money can buy, AMSOIL Signature Series Max-Duty oil.

Another steed has been added to the stable.  Zach realized that a lifted truck on 35" tires has the aerodynamic profile of a house.   So he wanted something economical.  How about a $900 2000 Volkswagen Golf TDI, 5 speed manual, a mere 474,000 kms!  Barely broken in! Ha ha.  It's got an old tune on it (Upsolute Tuning).  It runs real nice actually.  We flushed the motor and put in AMSOIL European oil and we changed the manual transaxle oil....what came out of that poor transmission....looked like chocolate milk!  Gross.

Then came the unexpected issue.  My rig.  2015 RAM 1500 EcoDiesel.

As I was heading to the auto-wrecker along Hwy 97 all of a sudden my dash lit up like a Christmas tree.  ABS light, Traction Control light, a 4x4 error message and a trailer braking warning message....in addition to the check engine light that was already on for a bad glow plug.  I noticed my drivers side rear tire was covered in brake fluid? or something.

I headed to the shop my son works at.  He threw it up on the hoist, took off the tire and we took a look... we could see an issue behind the brake rotor.  He took that off and the whole parking brake exploded onto the floor!  Wow....   it finally just rusted apart.

Well today I was able to get it fixed...real cheap.

Autowrecker - Rear axle with ABS tone ring
Autowrecker - ABS sensor
Bearing
Seal
Differential gasket
AMSOIL Severe Gear 75W-140 gear oil
AMSOIL Slip Lock

All of that $226.17.  Amazing.
Plus I needed to get a blind hole collet bearing race puller
I already had the bearing installation tool.
It all went super smooth.... so nice when that happens.

I changed out the glow-plug on cylinder #3.  It's the second one I've had to do.  So far, so good.

Have a great Labour Day weekend!  We'll be racing a Moto-Park!
